Time Warner solicits entries for teaching awards
The Greensboro division of Time Warner Cable is seeking entries for the cable provider's national teaching awards contest. The awards recognize teachers whose classroom projects use company resources.
Fifteen teachers or teaching teams from Time Warner's markets throughout the country each will receive a $2,000 cash prize, $3,000 for the advancement of classroom technology, a paid trip to Washington, D.C., for the awards ceremony and a crystal apple sculpture. The company also plans to award a principal this year with $5,000 meant for classroom technology improvements.
Eligible teachers much work at a state accredited public or private primary or secondary school within a Time Warner service area. Classroom projects worked on between Sept. 1 of last year and April 13 of this year qualify.
To get an entry form, contact Susan Lawson at Time Warner's local office, at 217-6653.
