And speaking of VF ...

Mackey J. McDonald, VF Corp.'s chief executive and chairman, is set to be honored at a major fashion industry event tonight.

The Fashion Institute of Technology, in New York, plans to laud McDonald at a 600-person dinner that costs $750 a plate.

In an announcement about the dinner, FIT spokespersons described McDonald as the leader who transformed VF from a “slower-growth maker of jeanswear and intimate apparel to a worl leader in branded lifestyle apparel.”

The fashion institute’s annual fundraiser, which collects more than $1 million for scholarships, typically honors an industry leader.

Last year, FIT chose Roger Farah, president of Polo Ralph Lauren Corp.
