Local marketing group tackles university athletics deal

A Greensboro marketing agency has picked up a contract to market athletic programs for an Ohio university.

The Sales Factory, which does some athletic marketing for N.C. State University and works with brands including Tylenol PM and VF Corp.'s Wrangler, will take on the image of sports programs at the University of Akron. The agency's efforts will include direct marketing, bolstering season ticket sales, fundraising and working with Akron alumni.

Other Sales Factory clients in higher ed include The University of Georgia School of Pharmacy, Vanderbilt University, the University of Tennessee, Bennett College and the University of South Carolina.
