Tanger outlets jump on "Idol" bandwagon
Greensboro-based Tanger Factory Outlet Centers will give one shopper a shot at tickets to one of this year's final "American Idol" shows in Los Angeles.
You don't have to be a shopper to enter the contest - which means local fans of the much-touted show don't have to hoof it to Blowing Rock or Nags Head, the locations of Tanger's two N.C. outlet centers. Entry blanks for the contest, which kicks off Monday and runs through April 15, will be available on Tanger's Web site. Shoppers at any of the Tanger centers can pick up entry forms in the stores.
The winner will get round-trip airfare, a hotel stay and $500 in cash, on top of tickets to see, in person, whether Paula Abdul acts as strange as she seems to on television. Runner-up winners will get an "American Idol" prize package.
Tanger also plans to hand out "American Idol" T-shirts to shoppers who drop some cash at its outlet centers starting April 30. The women's shirts, designed for Tanger, will be free for customers who spend at least $175 at the shops in a single day and buy a 20-ounce Coca-Cola product.
