High Point Ben & Jerry's to open with some strange fanfare Tuesday
The ice-cream shop at The Palladium at Deep River will hold a ribbon-cutting at 11:45 a.m., and the first 100 customers will receive free prizes including ice-cream cakes and T-shirts.
Also, the new Ben & Jerry's plans to award the first baby born Tuesday in the High Point Regional Health System free ice cream for life.
On Wednesday, all furniture industry employees can take advantage of a buy-one-cone-get-another-free deal by showing their work I.D. Employees who don't have their workplace I.D.'s can get a free cup or cone by bringing in a piece of household furniture.
April 12, anyone named Ben or Jerry will receive a free cup or cone of ice cream. Anyone who wears a tie-dyed T-shirt will receive $1 off any purchase that day.
The store will offer special deals for area students on April 13 and hand out free cups or cones of ice cream to kids who bring in movie ticket stubs from the Palladium Cinemas 14 on April 14.
Customers who bring in church bulletins on April 15 will receive a free sundae with the purchase of another sundae.
And April 17 will be "Free Cone Day" at Ben & Jerry's stores worldwide (including the one in Greensboro, for those readers over here). Anyone who comes by the shops that day can pick up a free cup or cone of ice cream. The High Point store also will be taking donations for Habitat for Humanity of High Point, Archdale and Trinity and for the N.C. Shakespeare Festival.
The Greensboro store, at the Shops at Friendly Center, will be taking donations for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro and the Greensboro Children's Museum.
