It's getting hot in here ...

Feeling toasty? If so, it's probably because Greensboro is one of the country's sweatiest cities.

But don't take my word for it.

Ask the makers of Old Spice deodorant, who ranked Greensboro No. 47 on a list of the 100 sweatiest cities in the United States this week.

Now, this ranking isn't just pulled out of the humid air. According to Proctor & Gamble Co., it's based on computer simulations of the amount of sweat a person of average height and weight might produce while walking around for an hour in the average high temperatures during the summer for each city.

And that methodology let us beat Charlotte at something: We're ranked two places above the Queen City when it comes to our sweat factor. And we're only slightly behind Raleigh, which ranked 44th.

Phoenix took top honors fit its sweat factor - with the average city resident sweating out 26 ounces of slickness per hour on a typical summer day. Want some perspective on that? Well, P&G says Phoenix residents, taken as a group, put out enough sweat to fill more than 53,000 beer kegs in a single hour.

Guess we know where the company will be marketing antiperspirant.
