Security company picks up local offices
Tac, a Dallas-based security company, has signed an agreement to buy six Yamas Controls Group facilities, including one in Greensboro.
Tac, which also provides indoor climate and other building environment services, also has picked up Yamas offices in Charlotte, Morrisville and Greenville, S.C., according to a company announcement.
The six facilities have a combined revenue of more than $40 million and employ 225 people. Tac didn't provide details about the Greensboro operation, and additional information wasn't readily available Monday.
Yamas, which still has offices in Wilmington and Chapin, S.C., is a Sacramento-based provider of building systems inlcuding heating and cooling, security and lighting. The company's (now-former) Greensboro office is located on East J. J. Drive.
Yamas is privately owned by Alestra Ltd., a London-based holding company.
Tac, which employs more than 5,000 people worldwide, is a subsidiary of Schneider Electric, a automation and electricity management company that operates in 190 countries. The Dallas-based security operation plans to integrate its new facilities in the Carolinas into its existing Tac office system.
Tac already has a branch in Charlotte.
