Calender girl notes
Wednesday the good folks down at the legislature could be excused for being a bit star struck.
First they get Frank Capra Jr. telling the Senate Finance Committee why incentives for fill makers are a good thing.
The same day, Miss USA 2005, Charlotte Native Chelsea Cooley, is scheduled to meet with both houses, according to our friends at AP.

Just some bits of trivia that I can't resist sharing. Something that is not universally known is that Capra Sr. was a Sicilian immigrant. His family brought him over in 1903 when he was 6 years old. Pretty amazing that he could move so quickly, off the boat, to the top of the movie industry making films that captured the essence of America.
He came from a town called Bisacquino, which interestingly was originally settled by a group of Arabs called Saracens when they controlled that part of Sicily. (The ancient Greeks also had a long history in that region). My own maternal grandfather was from a town next door in that same region of Southwestern Sicily.
The link you provided showed a picture of Frank, Jr., and his facial features are unsurprising. I did not know he was doing work in NC. I appreciate the post.
