Weekend report
Here are a couple of updates for you if you missed the weekend papers:
- My colleagues Tina Firesheets and Eric Collins penned this story on Stephen's Law, which closes a loophole in the hit and run statute. The bill was named for a Western Guilford High School graduate. Gov. Mike Easely signed it Sunday.
- Click here for a profile of the lottery commission. Charles Sanders at one time opposed the creation of a state game.
- The governor's press office kept itself busy over the weekend, letting me know that bills were signed. Click here for the release on Stephen's Law and Rachel's Law, which relates to handguns. The governor also signed a bill raising school nutrition standards.
