RALEIGH -- N.C. Rep. Pricey Harrison, D-Guilford, today issued the following statement in response to an article in today's Raleigh News and Observer regarding an event that she attended with other local and state officials during the festival of tall ships in Beaufort:"Had I known that the lunch was underwritten by the state, I would not have gone," said Rep. Pricey Harrison. "Ethics reform has been one of my highest priorities as a freshman legislator. I am immediately reimbursing the state for my portion of the expenses."

Taxpayer,
I have spoken with Pricey on this last week. She did reimburse for her two guest, as well. She is a class act that is leading the way for the rest of the legislators on this ferry boat issue. Who is not being raked over th coals on this is the NC Port Authority who staged the event. That's who should be on the front page of the papers explaining why?
