Shock and surprise!
What! John Edwards is running for president? Wow, you’d think this would be all over the … oh, wait, never mind.
At any rate, the worst kept secret in modern American politics is now official. Do you care? Are you among those happy to see Edwards running or in the camp that considers him seven-kinds-of-evil?
Drop me a line, I’ll be pondering his candidacy for an article in tomorrow’s paper.
Update: The Post carreid a transcript of Edwards' remarks in New Orleans this morning.

Sixty-six kinds of evil, actually (tongue firmly in cheek).
I care, but not in the way Edwards and many of his web-cheerleaders would like.
I await your pondering.

In my 50+ years, I cant remember a more insincere, shameless self-promoter than this guy
He can only be seen as a terrible senator, regardless of one's
political stripes, who all but admitted he used
North Carolinians as stepping stones
to achieve his rightful place on the throne.
Too many fell for it, most likely due to weak
alternatives and extreme political naivete.
He attached himself to Kerry, who is a loser,
just to make sure he had plenty of face time
before the electorate. He cannot win in any
fair fight--even the Democratic Party's left
side can see all the way through Cling Wrap
Johnny, the ambulance chaser.

I could care less about John Edwards and as in the spirit of the Dixie Chicks...I am ashamed that he is from the state of NC! He will never get my vote.

I think he's making a mistake, for one i would be embrassed to run when i lost to a wonderful president as George W. Bush. This world would be in great danger if he won, because his party only cares about themselves and not the people

John Edwards is about the biggest hypocrit in politics today (and that is saying a mouthful.) He goes about spouting his insincere words about being for the working man, the little guy, the down and out, etc. But he retreats back to his huge estate where his mansion is under construction. Is he really stupid enough to believe that even a half-way intelligent person can not see him for the fraud that he is. "Mr Gone" has done nothing for North Carolina, for America or for anyone other than his huge ego.
