Friday Appointments
The governor is making appointments today and some are of local note:
- Gov. Mike Easley today appointed Polly D. Sizemore to the District Court bench in the 18th Prosecutorial District in Guilford County. The District Court seat was created by the North Carolina General Assembly in 2006. More here.
- Gov. Mike Easley has reappointed Layton Long of Lexington to the North Carolina State Board of Sanitarian Examiners. Long is health director with the Davidson County Health Department. The Board of Sanitarian Examiners was created to safeguard life, health and the environment by registering qualified people to practice as sanitarians in North Carolina.
- Gov. Mike Easley has appointed Eugene A. Lewis of Greensboro to the North Carolina Radiation Protection Commission. Lewis is a chiropractic physician. He is a past chairman of the Council of Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters, a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the North Carolina Chiropractic Association. The commission advises the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in the development of comprehensive policies and programs for the evaluation, determination and reduction of hazards associated with the use of radiation.
