Weekend papers: voters, money, booze and new computer
Four items:
- * Big money is placing its bet on Guilford County legislative races. Stop me if you've heard this one before, but incumbents and those who enjoy a registration advantage in their districts are getting most of the bucks.
- * I'll see your registration advantage and raise you an historic pattern of apathy and an historically unpredictable election cycle.
- * Not one of mine, but hands down the best election piece out there this weekend: Asheboro is wrastlin' over whether to remain dry or to let folks wet their whistles with something stronger than sarsaparilla. Apparently, the polar bears want them some polar beer, because the zoo society is a big contributor to the cause.
- * Not a news item, but by way of answering some questions that have come my way: No, the end of the legislative session didn't melt my brain...my computer, that's another story. The bosses are getting me the hook-up with some new technology this week and I should be back to making with the multi-media and blogging and whatnot.
