Moving from our news desk this afternoon:
- * This update from me on the Board of Community College's efforts to adopt a policy on illegal immigration. There will be a little more on this in tomorrow's paper, but some background is here.
- * My colleague Joe Killian reports: People need to understand the hard facts of coming deep budget cuts, University of North Carolina President Erskine Bowles said Thursday at a UNC Board of Governors meeting. "We're going to lose hundreds of people and it's going to hurt this University," Bowles said. "It's going to hurt our academic core."
