GSO Local Bill Update
A couple of Greensboro-focused local bills - those that affect just one particular area of the state - floated through the House Local Govt. I Committee Wednesday morning:
- *H 541: Greensboro Motor Vehicle Levy would give the City Council the ability to raise the city's annual motor vehicle tax from $10 to $16. The extra money would go to support public transportation. The bill next goes to the Finance Committee.
- *H 519: Greensboro/Energy-Related Dev. Incentives would allow Greensboro to offer incentives to developers to use "green" construction techniques. The bill next goes to the committee on Energy and Energy Efficiency.
