GCS open houses
I don't want to distract from the redistricting discussion, but we had a request to post the list of Guilford County Schools open houses.
I thought that might be something people would want to know, too.

The times chosen seem odd to me if the schools actually want parental involvement. No consideration for working parents at many of these schools!

Bruce and Jennifer,
Could you please get the word out that the schools will have an early dismissal for the first 3 days of school? This will be a major hassle for all involved if parents do not know about this.

That will be part of our back to school coverage. We have several stories on various aspects of the new school year that will be running from about this Thursday through the first day of school.
Here's a sample of stories we're working on: a roundup of new principals, a primer on some things to know about starting kindergarten and high school, an interview with the superintendent, and what's new for 2005-06.
