The life of a teacher
I hope everyone has had a chance to read Jennifer's article on teacher Tijuana Hayes from Sunday's paper. It really is a must-read, if you are interested in education. I've spent countless hours in local classrooms and even I was amazed at how much teachers are expected to do these days.
In addition to the story, news-record.com has a really neat multimedia presentation. Be sure to click on that as well.

Jennifer, Absolutely superb portrait of a teacher. Congratulations. No other agenda other than telling it like it is. Other columnists at your paper should take note.

Jennifer,
I, too, must express my appreciation for the in-depth story that you researched and wrote for Sunday's paper.
Bravo!!
You did a superb job!

Bruce,
Thanks for the e-mail and note here. I appreciate it.
And no, dear Chalkboard readers, this Bruce is not my writing sidekick, who's also named Bruce. (Or wait, am I his sidekick? Hmm.)
Thanks everyone for the compliments. Ms. Hayes was very brave letting me dog her every step for a week. I'm sure she felt like she had her very own stalker/paparazzi!
I learned a lot, including I never could be a teacher. The early morning hours alone would kill me! I'm more of a night owl.
