Local Olympic medalist visits schools

Joey Cheek, gold and silver medalist at the recent Winter Olympics, will visit Aycock Middle and Dudley High on Thursday.

Cheek is a Dudley graduate.

The visits are part of the city's celebration of the hometown hero. The News & Record is sponsoring a charitable luncheon that day with Cheek. Here's the full schedule of events for that day. (Note: The WXII interview noted on the schedule will actually air during the evening broadcast.)

What year did Joey graduate from Dudley? I read somewhere that he attended Dudley, but moved prior to graduation.

numbersgame,

Maybe I have that wrong. I thought he was a graduate. I'll ask around and see.

IIIIII C,

Actually, what I read in our archives had said he was a Dudley graduate but since Numbersgame sounded like he/she thought that was wrong, I doublechecked. Do you understand better now?

Numbersgame,

Cheek graduated in 1997 from Dudley.

Jennifer, you mean there are morons on the Chalkboard who attack other people (including you) for no reason?

I'm beginning to understand things.

IC2, I would be more worried about the morons on the School Board who attempted to legalize the daily abduction of children and then settled on an even worse alternative of busing entire neighborhoods in the name of diversity, NOT EDUCATION.

On top of that I would wonder why the School Board (those same morons) are given a free pass to corkscrew school after school into the ground.

C what I mean??
