I feel their pain.
My son complained constantly for the last two years about his school "stinking" smelling like "crap" .
He started coming home with severe migraine headaches and nauseousness on a regular basis this fall.
The complaints started in September and the problem was finally corrected in January. If I had not been a diligent pain in the neck I seriously doubt it would be fixed today.
The problem was an open sewer pipe that was venting into the building in a mechanical room. This was not just an empty room, but one containing an air-handler that circulated air into my son's school hallway. The methane level was so high that they were told to get it closed immediately or they they would have to close the school. Yet it took me months of complaining to get this resolved!!
Teachers told me that the school had always smelled bad. I just don't understand why this problem was not discovered with a final inspection of the school or from a yearly maintenance inspection.
The problem with maintenance at our school needs to be addressed. Every supervisor should be able to pull out a chart listing when the last filter was changed and floors polished.
Are our workers properly trained and supervised??
How many kids are sick due to building sickness??
Also, can anyone tell me who I can send my medical bills and pain and suffering claims that I and my son incurred over half this year?

It is a question of accountability! Passing the buck, saying "I am not hear to find blame... just to get it fixed" shows a shocking lack of responsibility. "THE BUCK STOPS HERE" attitude is gone from all of GCS. It must be returned!
It should be "I find it unacceptable, it is my job to get it fixed and it will be fixed" is real leadership.

Amos seems a good guy but I am getting a little weary of his rantinga nd raving. He has been in his job for a year or so and only now he is kicking up a fuss?
Come on Amos, where have your been? Are you another Deena in duiguise?
