It is so desperately sad that our kids are so starved for love and affection that they are turning to gangs for love and connection.
They are willing to be beaten, and willing to give up their power, soul, and human-ness to belong to something and to be certain about their significance.
Kids need to feel love and connection, significance, and certainty. That is not too much to ask.
If they do not get it from their parents, so what? They just need it from somewhere.
How can we fill in the gap for these kids?
It is in all our best interests to reach out and love these kids.

The mold has been set for many of these children. You may save a few but the key is prevention and intervention.
As for the hard care gangs, some of you may choose to love Charles Manson and his "gang". I am glad he is in prison to protect society from this type of violence.
