Childs out of school board race

Walter Childs told me last night that he will not be seeking his second term as representative of District 1 this year. Instead, he will actively support J. Carlvena Foster, director of the Carl Chavis Memorial Branch YMCA in High Point, who filed on Monday.

"I just feel very comfortable that she'll do a bang-up job and I support her wholeheartedly," Childs said.

Childs, a retired educator, said he decided not to run because he wants to pursue ministry (train to become a pastor) and spend time with his 5-year-old granddaughter.

So far, the following have filed since Feb. 11: Incumbents Kris Cooke and Darlene Garrett and newcomers David Crawford and Mike Stone.

Finally. The BOE seriously discussed taxing authority this past week. It is about time and way past due. Accountability for the budget in Guilford County must reside in one and only one board. It is in the taxpayers' best interest to get people on the BOE who are not afraid to take full responsibility for the budget. Enough with the finger-pointing between the BOE and the County Commissioners. The BOE needs to be a board of grownups. The BOE needs to be fully accountable to the taxpayers. Why are all BOE members not all in agreement with this idea?

Morgan, can you make this a formal topic of a discussion on the Chalkboard blog? You are welcome to include my comment above.

Greetings,
My name is Sanches and I am new to this forum. I wasn't sure where to make this post, and my
apologies, if I posted inappropriately,
please advise.
Few months ago, I found information about
investment funds, that are not readily available to the public. The profit percent, which investors could
receive by participating in such
private clubs, appeared
surprisingly high at
first, but as I investigated more feedbacks about them, I started to
invest. These days, I consider
myself to be the successful
player. To
share my findings, I
made available the blog, which
shows detailed information
about online investing. You can see my current picks, click here. I would deeply
appreciate
user's feedbacks.

Some parents try to use any resource available to keep their kids on a diet.
Now where was I...Oh yeah, getting the keys to the wine cellar from the alcoholic Uncle.
Aw heck, does anyone have a good idea here. I guess teaching the kids how to budget calories with some intelligent restraints has some real possibilities after all. Oh, here's the men in the white coats ready to take me to my new home..and a nice new jacket to boot. Wow isn't public service wonderful?

Garth,
Thanks for the humorous take on it.
I think I am in the minority in my opinion.

Few months ago, I came across information about
investment funds, that are rarely published on
official investment resources. The yields, which one could
receive by participating in such programs, looked
shockingly high at
first, but as I learned more about them, I made my
choice. These days, I consider
myself as the successful
player. My next step, is marketing field, so, I
made available the blog, which
provides detailed information
about selected programs. To see my current picks, follow this URL.
