Statement by Jack Jennings, President and CEO, Center on Education Policy
On the Recommendations from the Commission on No Child Left Behind
The Center applauds the Commission on its independent, bi-partisan recommendations for reauthorizing the No Child Left Behind Act to ensure that the important goals of the law are possible. With the law’s reauthorization fast approaching, now is the time to look at new ideas and proposals to make sure every student receives the assistance necessary to achieve at high levels. Thanks to the Commission, the Congress and the Administration have a good foundation to begin the NCLB reauthorization process.

Based in Washington, D.C., and founded in 1995, by Jack Jennings, the Center on Education Policy is a national independent advocate for public education and for more effective public schools. The Center works to help Americans better understand the role of public education in a democracy and the need to improve the academic quality of public schools. The Center does not represent special interests. Instead, it helps citizens make sense of conflicting opinions and perceptions about public education and create conditions that will lead to better public schools.
