Get running, fatty!

I was back at the gym today.

I was into my third mile when an older woman running on the machine next to me turned, did a double-take, smiled and said:

"So you're back at the gym today, huh?"

She had recognized me from the nearly life-size picture of me and Amanda on the front of the Life section yesterday.

"I read on the blog that you didn't go to the gym all weekend!" she said. "You have to do that every day!"

"Yes, ma'am," I said.

Amanda got the same scolding...er...encouragement from a GTCC staffer yesterday.

So it seems each of us has more than the other helping keep us on track. Thanks for the assist, little white haired lady at the gym.

It really stinks when the little old ladies are kicking your butt on the tread mill. Uh, least that's what I'm told. No, really, it hasn't happened to me. Really.

Do you go to my gym? I wonder if that was the little white-haired lady who was doing everything I couldn't in my first and last step aerobics class last weekend.

Joe Killian said:

We go to Planet Fitness -- where I'm not sure there are any aerobics classes. But there are plenty of feisty older ladies.

Kavita said:

I personally love it when I see a very wide range of ages in my aerobics classes. It shames my 22-year-old self into working at least as hard as the 80-year-old guy in the back of the room.
