Christian Bale to star in new Terminator movie
First, Christian Bale was Batman.
Now, he's John Connor, future leader of the resistance in the new Terminator movie.
According to Variety the film, due in May of 2009, will be the first of a new trilogy.

Bale has been publicly attached to the film since November. Also, while we could see more of Batman in the second and third parts of the trilogy, John Connor doesn't play that big of a role in the story for the first film.
The big news here is that Sam Worthington, star of James Cameron's upcoming Avatar, has been cast in the lead role, based solely on Cameron's advice for the project. It's pretty cool that they actually consulted, y'know, the guy who created the franchise.
There's also a chance that Josh Brolin might be playing one of the Terminators.
T4 will be opening the same weekend of Night at the Museum 2: Escape from the Smithsonian. Does Ben Stiller even have a chance? Sadly, because of all the money that first movie made, he probably does.

According to the linked Variety article Worthington is in talks to star in the movie and the script and story are tightly under wraps. But thank God we have Joe Scoyy to condescendingly tell us what the real news is. He should really call up Variety and tell them what morons they are when he's done surfing blogs to tell people they aren't paying enough attention to what he cares about.

Hey hey -- you two play nice.
Joe's last name is Scott and he's right - Bale has been attached to the project for a while. I just figured there were probably people reading the blog who hadn't heard that (or didn't know there was a new Terminator movie) and thought I'd point them to the Variety item, where they would learn more about the movie.
Comments are designed for expanding on the original entry - asking questions, furthering discussion. Movie buffs are certainly in a good position to do that on movie posts. Chill and let them.

Further more, I like 'Scoyy' better than Scott. Thanks for the suggestion 'weyrd.'
But yeah, my apologies if anyone thought I was condescending. I was, as Killian said, expanding the story. I've worked with him before and know he's too much of a professional to get mad at something like that unless someone resorts to petty remarks or name-calling, which I didn't.
