Quarterlife canceled after just one episode.

After airing a single episode, NBC has canceled Quarterlife, the first scripted show to go from online to network television.
The five remaining one-hour episodes will air on Bravo.
Amanda and I saw the premiere this week (well all right - I watched most of it and washed dishes through much of the middle section while she watched) -- and neither of us is happy about the news.
But the show's co-creator says it should never have been a network show, calling it "too specific."
Not everything is for everybody.

Bravo could be a better fit. It's not like the show cost millions dollars to make anyway. Even if the show got NBC their lowest ratings in 17 years, two point whatever million viewers would be good numbers for a cable net-let.
Definitely a bold move on NBC's part. But I think what they failed to realize that even though the power of network TV is eroding because of the Internet, that's because the net provides viewers with a million different niche options. And none of those options are ever going to be more popular than Friends, Seinfeld, or Law and Order. Well, except maybe Homestar Runner.

I sat through the preview of this, and... I'm not too sad about the news. I was really disappointed that, with shows like My So-Called Life under their belt, the creators gave us such a stereotypical view of 20-somethings. Maybe I'm just burned-out to the point of cremation on the whole "I'm in love with him, but he's in love with her!" storyline.
Also, who the hell has that many people just hanging around their damn house 24 hours a day?
Oh, right... my neighbors.... Maybe I'm just old before my time.

Did I type "preview?" I meant premier.
