I'm not at all surprised as my daily driver gets 200 miles per gallon and the plug-in hybrid project in my work shop is expected to get 1000 miles per gallon.
Just imagine what the automakers could do if they wanted to.

I'm more and more tempted to make my next car a Smart car -- but I'm worried that, as with the iPhone, something cheaper and even better would make my car nearly obsolete a few months later.
Going to have to pull the trigger sooner or later, though.
