There are a lot of Dems out there who treat Obama like he's the second coming of Christ -- a dangerous thing to do for anyone running for public office.
But I guess no one can really blame them since Obama has been running one-word slogans like "Change," "Hope," etc.
As a person who will most likely vote for Obama - unless he chooses Zombie Hitler for his running mate - I decided to write a few suggestions for future campaign slogans:
"Magic"
"Candy"
"Other-wordly"
"Celestial"
"Immortal"
-and for my money-
"Kittens"

Yeah, we're beginning to see the results of a bunch of college kids who grew to political adulthood under Bush. If Obama is anything less than The Perfect Liberal, they'll cry betrayal.
I'm pushing for Obama as hard as anyone, and while I'm disappointed by his vote on this one, I see the logic. No one is really going to ditch him over this, and he denied McCain a "weak on security" chair leg.
What's really odd to me is the notion I'm hearing in some quarters that Obama is like the Smiler from the comic Transmetropolitan: A liberal mask with a fascist agenda. Think about it this way: If he's really been seeking higher and higher political offices solely for personal gain, wouldn't it have been a hell of a lot easier to do it as a Republican?

My generation did come to political maturity under George W. Bush -- but the quicker they understand that all politicians are politicians and his is not a special evil, the better off we'll all be.
