Hannah Montana
Did you go see Hannah Montana at the Coliseum last night? No, of course you didn't. But if you did, how was it? Even if you didn't, you probably have an opinion on the inability of regular parents without specialized computer software being unable to buy tickets at face value.

My family got tickets at the colesium and as well as on line. If you wanted to get tickets, you needed to get there early (before 6 am). I got 4 seats online around 10:20 that morning, also. I think a lot of the complaining is coming from people who did not make the effort that morning and need an excuse.

I was able to purchase four tickets online when they first went on sale. I sold them for a profit as this was my intention. This is called free enterprise, the rule in NC about not selling tickets over $3.00 is a joke and is not enforced. I would never sell tickets at the coliseum grounds, but with sites like Ebay and Stubhub it's really easy to do. The big ticket brokers are making money, so why should I get a piece of the pie. I sell tickets when there is a big event around town, it's simply supply and demand. Quit whining and get in line or place an order online and buy them just like I did instead of complaining after the fact.

True...I also think alot of the complaining is coming from people who did not really make an effort. However, there are also those such as my daughter, granddaughter and myself. We tried unrelentlessly to buy or win tickets to the Hannah Montana concert...which was to be a part of my granddaughter's Christmas present. My daughter went to Macy's and stood in line for hours with cash in hand. She was 9th in line and the first at Macy's not to get any tickets. The 1st person in line was the only one to get four tickets together. The 8th person in line got 2 tickets together and the other 2 were singles. My daughter, who was 9th, got none...tickets were sold out. Only eight people getting tickets at a ticket venue within minutes of them going on sale is ludicrous. My daughter left Macy's and went to the mall where she was told by a clerk that they had only been able to get through and get tickets for a couple of ticket buyers.
We drove all over Greensboro and into High Point to Goodwill stores and registered to win tickets. We drove around town to the Sprint stores and registerd to win tickets. We went to Radio Disney events. We tried over and over to get our hands on tickets because my granddaughter is such a big fan and extreme music lover. We registered everywhere we could find out about that was giving away tickets.
We tried to win them from several radio stations. I was the 400th caller and my daughter was 815th...trying to be the 931st caller so we could win tickets on the WOLF...we each only got through once. We were constantly dialing well over an hour.
We went when Radio Disney was at Dillard's and waited over 2 hours for the winner of 2 tickets to be drawn...you had to be present to win. My granddaughter even conquered her stage fright and sang along with High School Musical 2 in front of the crowd gathered there. We went to Circuit City on Friday morning in all the Black Friday traffic to register again at a Radio Disney event that was giving away 2 sets of 2 tickets.
Last Tuesday when they went on sale again, my daughter had my granddaughter at her doctor's office for a prescheduled flu shot appointment (she has asthma and has to have this shot). She could not try to get tickets...so she had a friend doing so, but the friend was only able to get through and get 2 tickets (for her daughter and herself) before they were gone.
My granddaughter cried last night because she wanted to be at that concert so bad and had tried so hard to acquire tickets to get there...this is a 7-year-old child who made the comment on Friday that she wished we could win tickets from everywhere that we had registered so that all her friends could go to this concert...a totally unselfish child who has had to learn firsthand that some grownups can be so greedy!
This was a children's event and many kids just got completely left out.

Rita, did you consider driving to Charlotte? I bought two tickets for Charlotte from Ticketmaster, only 2 hours before the show started. We bought them, jumped in the car and went. They had several seats available. I know this because I kept typing in "2" and each time it would show me different seats and I kept trying to see if we could get closer to the stage. I agree that tickets were hard to find but for the Greensboro show and the Charlotte show, they released more tickets the day of the show.
