Housing authority investigation

High Point City Manager Strib Boynton has had to step in to get police to investigate possible embezzlement involving the city's housing authority. Right move? What's going on there? Why hasn't the housing authority stepped up?

Does this not raise "red flags" about the leadership of the HP Housing Authority? This incident reportedly happened from 2004-2006. And it is just not being reported to the public in late 2007! It smells like a cover-up to me. Hopefully this will not turn into another Project (Ripoff) Homestead. Then again, why the Strib reference that in his comments?

I hope that other HP residents will question this as I intend.

Issues have existed with the Housing Authority for many, many years. Not only should the current administration be investigated but the old regime as well. These were Hope VI dollars and it was the previous Hope VI Director that initiated the Springbrook Development and oversaw the program! He definitely could not withstand any scrutiny.
