Uh, yes. Disclose everything about GPD over the last two years that the city manager and city council have. The Big Belt Guy needs to come clean about his department. Maybe this gives us a hint why crime is out of control in this city?

Along with many citizens, who attended the many candidate forums during this past municipal elections. One of the most crucial, if not poignant issues, was that, if any candidate that was to be elected to the city council, would assure the citizens that information regarding any issue that comes up, that it would be released to the public.
This issue, regarding the three police officers, being suspended and being paid, is one of the many issues that needs to be brought to light
for the citizens to understand what the problems our police department is going through.
Mayor Johnson is keeping her pledge to assure the citizens that she is taking action, and has
directed the City Manager Johnson, to respond accordingly. I feel confident that all will be reported to the citizens, regardless of the edicts
that come unders the guise of "personnel"
issues.
Of course, this is one of many issues with the police department. There are other problems/
issues that the city should reveal, to insure
public trust and confidence for our city leader-
ship.
I do not want to feel that my vote was wasted
on this election, when I was assurred that this city council was going to insure the citizens their
right to know.

The new mayor needs to ask the police chief and the legal staff for information when she needs to know. Since when does the city manager decide what Greensboro needs.
Mr. Johnson has no credibility. He should step down and the city council can take control of Greensboro.

I feel as Mr. Johnson is again trying to decide what the people need to know. The mayor should act quickly and set the standared for what he is to do and not do. He is a paid employee and should do as they ask. He is not controll everything as he is final authority. Ms. Johnson needs to act now.

Mr. Johnson seems to be stalling for time, or helping others do so. Something is at stake for some officials involved in the investigation.....It looks bad for all parties and I'm sure it won't be pretty as it goes along. Besides, with the bad publicity of officers shooting dogs, others running for profit group homes for girls and past issues of racial profiling, Mr. Johnson doesn't want the scandals too close together......hmmmmm

It would not be appropriate to reveal more informatoin about this investigation at this stage...The public, media and politicians tend to rush to judgement before all facts are known and poor decisions result from this...Ever her of Mike Nifong...The police department is in a time of crisis and this only adds to it...Much information that would be released at this stage would be speculation and who is that fair too???These men's names have now been tarnished, and if they did something, deservedly so, but what if they did not???In this era of over media everyone wants it now, but prudence does not always allow for that...

Mitchy and Timmy are thumbing their noses at the City Council and Mayor. But then they have been led to believe that they could and get away with it. BB

I just wonder what classification the officers in question are? Are they contract employees or 'at will' employees? If they're standard W2 employees, without being completely guilty of a sex crime, they are likely guilty of misusing a police van. For that they can be dismissed at the judgement of the city manager or police chief. There should be no need for criminal misdeeds for that to take place. That's why David Wray was such an igmo. He had adequate grounds to dismiss James Hinson without trying to concoct a criminal case that didn't exist in provable form.
