The loss of this lovely display is heartbreaking. How very scary that we have the level of evil in our city that would carry out such an act of senseless destruction. Yes, I would donate money to have this rebuilt.

Just tell me who to make the check out to. I think the citizens of Greensboro can turn this blasphemy around to show what this season is really about...Giving.

I cant understand why someone would feel the need to destroy such a part of our history. First I would like to see the ones who did this punished and I would donate $ to help catch them. As for replacing the scene yes i would gladly donate to the replacement of it.

I am heart broken that this happen. I can't believe what Greensboro is becoming. I hope whomever did this is found and pays a very heavy price. That nativity scene which for so many years stood at Pilot Life in the beauty that Greensboro will never be able to match. I am so heartbroken over hearing this. I had hoped that my childhood Christmas memories could be passed to my son and now he may never again get to see that beautiful Nativity Scene. I can't believe that has happened, where were the campus police or how about the GSO Police that are just a few blocks away. My heart is broken. The Triad is becoming a wasteland, people we have to come together and stop the Triad from becoming the wasteland between Raleigh and Charlotte.
In saying that, it was so ironic. Saturday night, unaware of the destruction to this beautiful Greensboro Treasure, My husband and I were talking about Christmas memories, and I told him that if ever I won the lottery, I would buy the old Pilot Life Building and bring the Nativity back to the beauty that so many of us got in the car on Christmas Eve night to drive with such excitment to see that beautiful scene with the lights and the music playing. You betcha, I will donate whatever I can to have our beloved Nativity scene brought back to us.
We have to save our Triad from the violence, the greed, and the destruction of our treasures that live in what we still hold true today. Keeping our Triad beautiful and safe so that the families who were born and raised here, have something to give for the generations to come.

I am saddened by this cowardly act and am very sorry for the communities loss, at least for this season. As a native of Greensboro my family and I have enjoyed viewing this beautiful display for years.
I think the students should look at producing a live nativity. I believe there is enough time, talents and resources to start this by the weekend. They could work with local production groups for costumes and have students work in rotating shifts to fill the character rolls. With their creativity and enthusiasm they can take this tragedy and turn it into triumph. We all have the ability to show the Grinch that the spirit of Christmas will always prevail.
