Pay for legal defense?

Should the city of Greensboro pay for the defense of the former police chief and two police officers in a civil lawsuit against them?

Yes!they were employees of the city at the time. May I add if I was in charge I hire them back, and see if they could stop the crime wave.

Absolutely, just because you are accused does not mean you are guilty and the creditability of the accusers is very questionable. Remember the Duke case.

Yes. If these officers would have to pay for their defense out of their own respective pockets, it would only intensify the injustice that appears to have already taken place.

Absoultely!

If we can spend money for contracts that was double-billed, bring in outside consultants, and hire high priced attorneys to do the city's legal work. Then, I believe that the city should pay for their defense, because they were city employees before the suit was filed. Wouldn't that be a no-brainer?

Oh, I forgot we were talking about our city administration.

Yes, the city should provide legal representation. This act might also open access to information about activities surrounding David Wray's forced resignation.
