How exciting is it to enter a new school with its pristine desks, immaculate lockers and never been opened desks?
If the paper is sold to a new owner, what changes would you make? (Be kind.)
Is the state's mental health system broken?
How can the community stop teen crime before it happens? What can churches, community organizations and parents do? And will you go to the meeting to share your ideas?
"Recycling all that stuff once every other week? Don't they realize how many cans, bottles and boxes we generate?"
"Yes, but you can't possibly fill one of those huge cans in just seven days. And think of the savings the city will have in gas and labor."
Are the cities taking too long on Randleman Reservoir?

Would you ride the bus from Greensboro to Archdale? Or Lexington to Greensboro? For the thousands of commuters it would be cheaper than driving. Also more trouble. Would you do it?
S & M Market is robbed so many times that the owner takes things into his own hands and hangs inert grenades in the store's windows. The police respond with the hazardous devices team, stop traffic from the nearby street and evacuate nearby buildings. The owner says, basically, oh, now you respond. Where were you when I was being robbed?
Is his anger justified?
A Florida development company is dropping its plan to build a golf-course community next to Haw River State Park and will sell the land to North Carolina's state park system.
Is it a win for the environment or a defeat for business and development?
Have you seen the Greensboro bicentennial ads on TV? Like them?
Should the City Council be able to tell the manager who to hire and fire, even though that's not its job? (The council only manages the city manager. Everyone else ultimately reports to the city manager.) Is this micromanaging or a strategic readjustment?

With the drought we're having, is this enough? Should the water supplier raise the rates to help people conserve?

The health department says cosmetic injections should be overseen by a reputable physician. The N.C. Medical Board, which regulates the practice of medicine in the state, has no real jurisdiction in the case. Right now, there are no charges planned in this case. Does that seem right?
If John Edwards doesn't win in South Carolina, should he drop out? Or perhaps the better question is: what percentage of the vote is considered a victory for him?
