Commuting by bus
Would you ride the bus from Greensboro to Archdale? Or Lexington to Greensboro? For the thousands of commuters it would be cheaper than driving. Also more trouble. Would you do it?

No I do not intend to ride PART anywhere at anytime. AND I don't appreciate the sneaky way the PART lot is being funded. The County Commissioner's levied a $1.00 tax per licensed vehicle without notifying the general public. What else are going to fund without our being aware?

I have been riding the PART bus from Winston-Salem to Greensboro for over two years and I love it. Yes, I have to leave the house a little earlier and get home a little later but it's MORE than worth it. I don't have to pay attention to the traffic (I get to read for two hours a day). And I don't have to watch out for the idiot drivers on I-40 that the cops ignore. Best of all, I'm currently saving about $250 per month in gas. Anybody who can take advantage of this should do it. Everybody wants to whine about the gas prices but very few are willing to put forth a little effort to do anything about it. The only thing that will make gas prices come down is for us to use less of it. People are just too spoiled and lazy. Time to stop talking the talk and actually walk the walk.

Miss Kitty:
I agree with you wholeheartedly! The only problem is, what if your job is at night, and on weekends? You see, they don't operate on weekends, and they stop service at 7 pm, on weekdays.
Not everyone can get a banker's hours job.

We absolutely need more public transportation in this town. Expanding PART is an excellent idea, but more needs to be done here in Greensboro, too. The system needs to be expanded to include crosstown lines, for those of us who don't need to go downtown for every trip.
