Ice, ice baby
With all the accidents yesterday, should school officials done anything differently? Should they have called school off or was this a no-win situation?

As someone who witnessed and was involved in the mess on Southeast School Road yesterday, I feel safety should have come first. I had wrecked my truck in the same place minutes before the schoolbus wrecked and got to watch it happen...horrible. I was there when the rescue truck wrecked too...helped attend to that poor woman under the schoolbus...couldn't walk on the completely iced over road to help her or transfer my children to another vehicle to go home...fell numerous times just walking around the scene because the road was solid ice...cutting my hands in the process...spent the rest of the day recovering after that horrific scene. I am so very angry that I had to be on the road at all. My sole purpose for being out in those conditions was trying to get my children to school on time. I work at home. I appreciate the delay today. I am not sure anyone is to blame but a lot of innocent people were hurt yesterday because someone didn't make safety paramount. It is that simple. Call a delay...call school if the conditions are that wet and cold...use common sense. That is what the policy is THERE FOR....to keep our children safe. My chidren were not safe yesterday and neither were many others.
