Bonds

Will you support or oppose these? Money for Eastern Guilford High School? Money for new schools? Money for GTCC? Money for new parks? Money for a new jail? Be careful: it could get expensive.

To vote for bonds is to vote for a tax increase - why not open a savings account and use it, down the road, to pay cash - just think of how much interest expense (taxpayer's money) could be avoided.

No how, no way on those School Bonds.

The School Board needs a complete overall because the long-standing Board members with the exception of Darlene Garrett are not good stewards of the taxpayers' money.

Skeet Club Savage said:

When one of the boardmembers doesn't even know what decade it is and thinks the main trait we should look for in a new Super is that he believes in "integration". (As if we are going to have a Super candidate come into town and immediately declare he's a segregationalist) When one of the boardmembers main passion and obsession is securing money for no-bid contracts especially for housemates and a Super is paid a high but indefinite salary that is left vague on purpose to the obvious advantage to the Super and disadvantage to the taxpayer, then giving these people any money could be a long shot.

People don't oppose the bond. Our schools need it. It's who you are handing the money over to that's the problem.

I say NO! NO! NO! to the school bonds.
Our school board has not heard what the people of this county have been saying for years: THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATON IS TOO TOP HEAVY AND TOO OVER PAID. Until the school board starts listening to the people, who are saying cut the fat, then why should we continue to give them more.

The new jail bond is a different story. We have been told for years this county needs a new jail. But there are a certain group of sheep in this county who will do whatever Skip Alston says. So continue electing Skip, and while you're at it can you can continue to live with the crime. After all Alston, Coleman and Davis are responsible for letting the criminals out on the street, by continuing to deny what ALL the experts have been saying for years. We are also being told Greensboro has a problem with gangs (and some of the problem is within our own police dept.). So if the gang members are arrested, where are we to put them? Maybe James Hinson would like to start a home, to house these thugs. Or maybe Skip & Butch wouldn't mind this criminals staying in their house with their families.

Why vote for school bonds, so they can burn down another school. Schools are just for babysitting. Not a lot of learning going on. Don't take my word just visit a school. Drugs, fights, gangs, is what you will be voting for with bonds. Years and years always more money and still we have the same problems. We need some leaders to hold people accountable for their actions. We also could use some parenting for these kids not excuses.
