I am so proud of these young people for pursuing their goal of the trip and doing so well in the competition. I hope that they remember this for a long time and carry this positivity with them. Congratulations!
PS - there are many Smith Alums involved in the music industry.

Congratulations to these phenomenal students and their director. I would also like to congratulate Ms. KrisShannon Rasbury, dance teacher, Athletic Director, and liturgical dance supervisor to the choir on her contributions and accomplishments with this amazing group of students. Her dedication to her students is unparalleled. Congrats again, your friends and community are proud of you.

I am so very proud of these young men and women. This is a major accomplishment , especially considering that they have not been together that long. I was going to give a donation but found out about it at the last minute. I think this money was well spent. This was a great opportunity for these young people. We always hear about the negative things young people are doing, but this is something positive. I also know there are a lot of young people doing great things in their community because I see it. I just want to congratulate the choir director, students and everyone that put this amazing program together.

I have first hand knowledge of the time and effort that the kids, directors, and boosters put into planning for this trip. I pray that others will see what can happen when we put our own agendas aside to achieve a common goal. Congratulations on a job well done.

Congratulations to these talented young men and women!!! What a marvelous accomplishment.

The Smith Gospel Choir (which also includes instrumentalists and dancers) is a wonderful example of how arts in our schools promote discipline, determination and hard work. It is nice to see a bright spot at a time when so many of our high school bands, orchestras and other arts programs are suffering due to a loss of instructional time in the arts in the elementary and middle schools.

Congratulations to the talented students, board of directors, volunteers, and the many supporters. Congratulations also to those graduates who had a desire to assemble this choir last year, during a time when many people were giving up on Ben L. Smith High School. Several of these outstanding young people are still actively involved with the choir. This success was by design! Deon Clarks leadership is exceptional and the support network is unwavering! It is my desire that the community will continue to support the choir and the school, and parents will continue to send their children to Ben L. Smith fully prepared to succeed - now having a living example that what is sown will be reaped.
