Born and raised in Greensboro, I'd say the best advice is to stay away...learn from the city and county's mistakes with government, education, planning and spending.
Its flattering for Greensboro to be a source of information and pretty embarassing that Charlotte is wasting time there.

Preserve open space. Combat sprawl. Support mass transit. Support the arts. Don't underestimate the value of a thriving downtown.
