Obama interview

If you could interview Obama during his visit to Greensboro, what would you ask him? I don't know that he will grant us an interview, but if he does, we'll ask some of your questions.

Are you willing to make those who made billions of dollars creating the sub-prime mortgage mess take responsibility for it?
Loose lending regulation and unbridled greed created the sub-prime mortgage mess, yet now the burden of bailing out the bankers is falling to the tax-payer. There has been successful litigation that says the only entity that can foreclose is the entity that lent the funds. Since this entity is the entire group of investors who bought into the bundled debt instrument, everyone who owns even the tiniest fraction of that mortgage would have to be part of the foreclosure - an unworkable proposition.
Would you be willing to help home owners get legal counsel and fight foreclosure on this basis?

As they prepare their questions, the pros need to make sure they're in touch with what people are concerned about. Case in point: On this page (no direct link, unfortunately), see the Feb. 8-10, 2008, USA Today/Gallup poll that asks how important candidates' positions on certain issues are.

In terms of percentage of people that ranked an issue as "extremely" or "very" important, "corruption in government" was tied for fourth, slightly (within the margin of error) behind education and slightly (also within the margin of error) ahead of terrorism. But compared with other issues listed, it's one subject candidates aren't being asked much about. I'd say there's a journalistic opportunity there.

I would ask him.
We need him to make a change in the democracy.
And I would ask him if he's willing to work with congress on Immigration reform to help a lot of people that are in serious need to work lawful.
And please bring our soldiers home.
And I would ask him " I have a dream that one day I would have a president name 'Obama'

A. When will you reassess the criteria about discrimination to include Structural Discrimination/Institutionalized Racism?
1.How many more lives have to ruined BEFORE YOU protect us ALL with the same vigor, zeal, and passion you give a select few whose story of inequality, injustice and/or discrimination just happens to fit the current criteria?
2.If surveys/petitions/blogs were completed that entailed various examples of this mistreatment, would you do something about it?
a.What would you do?
b..How many experiences would it take for you to do something about this travesty?
c.Would you also STIFFLY FINE the companies that are guilty of such mistreatments?

*****(I HOPE YOU REALIZE THATIN ORDER FOR COMPANIES/EMPLOYERS TO discontinue such behaviors, THEY WILL HAVE TO RECEIVE MONETARY CONSEQUENCES FOR THEIR ACTIONS****

B. Why is a person NOT able to vote even when he/she serves the time mandated and is released on parole? (what group does this REALLY EXCLUDE?)

C. Why is the government so quick to want to build prisons but very slow to provided educational programs TO encourage rehabilitation? (about 19,000 prisons vs. 12 educational programs??) cheap 'slave labor?'

D. How does the government expect 600+ people to live "happily ever after" when they are piled on one another like sardines, fighting savagely over the "crumbs of the hood?"
(research Marxist Theory)

E. If elected, Will you truly truly create programs that PROACTIVELY address our community's growing sense of "learned hopelessness and learned helplessness." In reviewing this system, you will find that SYSTEMICALLY, it was NOT designed for encouraging DEPENDENCE, but that is what it has become-a system of CO-DEPENCE.

F. Will you invest IN OUR URBAN COMMUNITES, where terrorism happens everyday? When you have people bundled together with limited resources, poor education, minimal employment opportunities, and are being mandated by laws that DO NOT MEET THE BASIC NEEDS OF "OUR AMERICA," and reminded that our feelings don't matter, what do you or ANYONE ELSE expect the responses to eventually be?
Even we get mad sometimes lol :)

I would ask:
When will you help people like Kyshon Wilson understand, much of the problems in the African American community is brought on by themselves. For instance: How can the African American community complain about the drugs and crime in their community when they don't want the ones committing these crimes to be punished for their actions (at least if the ones who committed the crimes are African Americans). They don't want to build prisons. Where do they think these criminals will go? To church? (Maybe Obama's church, where they will just hear more racist hate speeches). They will go back to the African American communities where they will do more crime.
I would also ask: Why should the tax payers be expected to continue to support people through welfare, those who continue to have more and more babies out of wedlok? The African American community continues to blame the White community for the problem of proverty in the African American community, but yet they don't take any responsibility for creating more of a problem by having all these kids who they can't support on their own. So they expect more entitlements to buy their food, pay the rent, provide the their healthcare, etc.
As far as the earlier comment "Will you truly truly create programs that PROACTIVELY address our community's growing sense of "learned hopelessness and learned helplessness." They can blame the democratic party (of which Obama belongs) for continuing to promote more and more entitlement programs, which promotes "learned Helplessness" and does nothing to promote personel responsibility. Take away the entitlements and force people to take responsibility for their own well being and they will see that taking responsibility for ones self is very rewarding. As long as people are paid to stay home and have more and more kids, (which they know they can't support), that is what they will do. But that is what socialism is all about, dependence on the goverment. The democratic party wants more and more people to have a sense of helplessness, so they will depend more on the goverment. The more people depend on the goverment, the more the goverment can control the people. If this is not what the African American community wants, then stop voting for democrates.

KYSHON L WILSON is sad and typical, afraid to accept or see the truth and therefore blames everyone for his perceived realities of black America . . .

. . . I guess you can always go to one of them black churches who spout white hate . . . to feel good, get empowered, to feel proud and get associated with Obama.

OK, guys. Let's keep this one on track with questions for Obama not observations about other commenters.

1. In General do you believe private citizens and enterprises in our demoracy can manage their affairs better with more goverment intervention or less?

2. What responsibility does Congress, banking oversight committee in particular, bear with regards to the current subprime morgage fiasco!

3. Why was not a Democratic controlled congress not just or more responsible than the President with regards to this banking issue! What responsibility does Reid and and the woman majority leader of the house bear in regards to leadership?

4. If you are so smart (opposed war), why did you not see this comming and speakout a couple years ago!

5. Why would you sacrifice the many lives in Iraq by a unilateral withdrawal! (16 months is unilateral)

6. If Iraq is a "write off" why is not the other war? Using your logic, how can Bin Laden be worth the cost if he is in Pakistan? Let the Afagans and Pakistan people get him!

7. What is your specific proposal to handle illegal immigration? Why should I pay for all these 12 million people? I prefer to pay for Iraq!

8. Reverend Wrights comments were quite vitrolic! Your wife's comments at some level mirrow his teachings or rantings! It is hard to believbe your children as would any children not be influenced when in the presence of such anger! It is impossible for young people not to be! Why did you expose them to this environmnet? Why should the public not feel that you, deep down, do not harbor similar feelings! You did not just attend church there but he was on you comittee, endorsed very controversial people! Seems if you are a healer, you would have run the other way!

I may come back, have to eat supper now!

Soren Kierkegaard once remarked of his "passion for the potential" inside individuals. You seem to embody this phrase as well, concerning college and university students across America. What are some specific ways in which you will draw the potential out of the collective student body to see America advance in remarkable ways?

Sen. Obama
This question is inregards to veterans rights/benefits.
Many former United States Military personnel have been stripped/denied veterans benefits i.e., medical care, GI Bill, housing loans etc. as a result of a dishonorable discharge from military service. Many of these veterans have faithfully and honorably served their country with 2- 4 & 6 years of service. Statistics/studies show that the number of dishonorable discharges have increased over the last 8 years, indicating that many of these veterans have served in the Iraqi war returned home suffering with mental anxiety & depression and have been discharged with no medical treatment and no hope of receiving future Veteran benefits? If appointed President will you appoint an independent team to review these cases and give the team the authority to reinstate Veterans benefits if deemed appropriate?

IDid you decide to run for President solely from personal ambition or did others urge you to? If the latter, will you name some of them, persons who perhaps saw that a "movement" was afoot?

Do you think that if Hillary was leading in states won, delegates and popular vote right now that you would be forced to quit like Huckleby? If you were caught making up a story like Hillary's Bosnia trip that you would be toast?

I amazed that at the pic on the n&r website with all the blacks standing in line. That's great that they support him, but this is more about he's a black man than anything. People don't know what's he about, they look at a black man and think oh he's going to do this and that and blah...blah. Get a grip, no one person is going to change all these things and everything he has proposed will come with a cost. He will be no better than Bush, false promises. you people keep on believing, I never thought it would come down to a woman and a black guy for pres. SAD!

I would ask him:
More than 40 percent of our income taxes now go to finance weaponry, warfare, and debt service on past wars, while about 3 percent goes for education and jobs training. In light of this, how will you end the tyranny Americans now suffer under from corporations and the military-industrial complex, and how will you restore our democracy?

One of the more insidious threats to our governmental system over the past 8 years has been the incessant use by the President of "signing statements" when he signs bills into law. I have heard that both you and Ms. Clinton have stated that you intend to use signing statements yourselves if you are elected, while Mr. McCain has said that he won't go that route.

Could you explain to us under what circumstances you would consider adding such statements to the process of making new laws?
