Is now the right time for so many millions in bonds? Which, if any, will you vote in favor of?

Make no mistake. Everyone who pays taxes, rents or buys anything in Guilford County will pay.

As a greenway and trail advocate, it pains me to not be able to vote for the parks & rec bond because I also believe in being fiscally responsible and there are way too many items in there that just simply aren't necessary right now - picnic shelters, skate parks, mini-golf courses. Why do we need to develop every single park with facilities? Why can't Bryan Park just be a passive park - minus all of the ballfields?

Schools and parks yes -- jail NO.

We need to reform our drug laws -- not build more prisons. One in a hundred of u.s. citizens are already in jail, learning how to be better criminals.

Please, spare us the social agenda talking points.

We need to reform our schools and our school board before we once again throw more money down that particular bureaucratic rat hole.

$200 a year for someone with a $200K appraisal? This is chump change compared to other non-value added increases we've been paying. I think the value of 5 new schools, the park improvements etc represent a fantastic benefit compared to what we're getting for the $3.50 a gallon (gas) or $4.00 a gallon (milk). We happen to be lucky that the previous investments in roads, schools, parks, water-supply etc have allowed the county to avoid the worst case scenario economic downturns that others are experiencing. It's called growth and it has and will be worth the investment.

If we are not going to build a new jail, I suggest we let the the prisoner's live with the people who do not want it. Surely they won't mind watching them for twelve or sixteen months.
I vote yes for the jail and no for the rest of the bond's save one. Eastern Guilford is a must.

None of the soon-to-be-wasted public school bonds! I oppose them in principle, because I don't think government should be in the indoctrin....ah, education business. When will a long-suffering public at least demand some deomnstrable accountability before funding more failure, vilience, atheism, immorality and waste. No more blank checks!!!!
