Who can possibly know more about overcrowding and the need for more jail space than BJ Barnes? Therefore, how can he possibly go "too far" in advocating for it? I know one thing, I'm for anything that Skip Alston opposes and I'll shoot down anthing that he proposes. Greensboro has a serious issuse of reverse discrimination among the powers that be right now.

What a joke. Alston accussing someone else of "crossing the line".
Alston even accused Sheriff Barnes of not wanting to reduce jail overcrowding. Does he not think that crossed the line? Alston doesn't even know how our justice system works. It is not up to Sheriff Barnes to decide who gets put in jail or who gets released, that is the court system's responsibility. Alston will not be happy until there is a black sheriff. Alston is the biggest racist in Guilford Co. If Guilford Co did have a black sheriff and that black sheriff said we needed a new jail, Alston would give them $500,000,000.00 to build it.
Alston saying Barnes "crossed the line" has less meat in it, than a hot dog from Skip's Hot Dog Shack.

No, the website presents facts and does not go "too far." Alston's uneducated viewpoint should not have been considered significant enough to investigate. Does anyone doubt the truthfulness of the information on the website under discussion? Fact: The jail is overcrowded. Fact: The state has warned Guilford County to do something. Fact: Overcrowding leads to tension, fights, and endangers inmates and detention officers. Shame on the News & Record for putting "overcrowding" in quotes, as if there may be some doubt.

Crime is bad and getting worse, not better. The police tell us how to avoid being a victim of crime--remove your garage door opener, dont leave anything in the car, park in a lighted area, blah, blah, blah. The victims are the problem! The social engineers say that there are too may people in prison and that is society's fault. They say we shouldnt build more jails, we should try to "understand" criminals and reverse what society did to make them like that. What a crock!
In fact, we dont have ENOUGH people in prison--otherwise there would be almost NO crime
