Whatever the congregation deems acceptable.

I personally find "the boss'" music to be so depressing I quit listening long ago.
How could anyone find anything positive to relate to in a song that starts out with a man abandoning his wife and child to pursue selfish "hungers"?
Not very uplifting, and certainly not Christ-like.

Once again-
Whatever the congregation deems acceptable.

I think the lyrics represent the core of every human being...."Everybody needs a place to rest Everybody wants to have a home Don't make no difference what nobody says Ain't obody like to be alone...Everybody has a hungry heart." Jesus is the one who can satiate the hunger we all experience in our walk on this earth. If providing a modern venue and service is what leads and connects people to a relationship with Christ, I say "Rock on!"

This guy is brilliant - gives a whole new meaning to "Spring Fever!" As the city of Greensboro prepares for Bruce's concert later this month, this pastor is making the WORD relevant and real to people who otherwise wouldn't even know what Jesus has to say about anything. Pastor Brown has found a way to reach people for Jesus Christ. I think it's refreshing and gives me great hope for the church.

As a minister, I applaud any efforts to win those who do not know Jesus Christ to Him. I don't see this as entertainment but a way to get the attention of those who are not saved to be introduced to Jesus Christ. The words "are" the state of our world and that is EXACTLY whom Christ died to save. Thanks be to God!!!

WELL WITH PEOPLE FREE CHOICE I DONT SEE AN ISSUE WITH IT......NO ONE IS HURT, NOTHING DIES.....ONLY PEOPLE SINGING UDER GOD. PERSONALLY I DONT THINK GOD REALLY CARES AS LONG AS YOU KNOW HIM IN YOUR HEART AND YOU TRUST AND LOVE HIM AND HE IS THE IDOL IN YOUR LIFE.....NO WHERE DOES IT SAY YOU CANT LISTEN TO THE MUSIC YOU WANT...YOU CAN STILL BE A CHRISTAIN AND SING SPRINGSTEEN SONGS......JUST LIKE YOU CAN STILL GO TO HEAVEN WITHOUT GOING TO CHURCH......RELATIONSHIPS WITH GOD ARE THAT......PERSONAL AND BETWEEN YOU AND GOD HE KNOWS YOU HE KNOWS ME...WE ARE TO LOVE AND HELP OTHERS BUT THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS NOT OURS.......SO SING WHAT YOU WANT REJOICING UNDER GOD I'M SURE HE LOVES IT KNOWING ITS ALL IN HIS NAME!

"'For You,' Lawrence Kirsch's mammoth hardcover collection of Springsteen stories from the rock troubadour's most devoted fans, is not a well-written book in the traditional sense. Some of the accounts meander along for a while before just sputtering out, or seem to exist only for the purpose of imparting too much information.

But somehow, those less polished pieces add to the book's charm and taken together with some of more insightful entries they help form what, in the end, turns out to be one of the most fascinating and moving books I've ever read.

In reading "For You," at first it's hard to believe that one performer could possibly have touched this many people this deeply lifted them from depression, kept them from suicide, helped them through divorce or the death of a parent, or worse, a child. But story after story reveals just how much Springsteen's music and his almost superhuman presence on the concert stage have penetrated people's lives and, in as much as it is possible for music to do so, made them whole.

In fact, there's a running theme of these reminiscences, one that is sure to warm any Bruce fan's heart: that you are not crazy. Not crazy for seeing dozens or even hundreds of concerts; not crazy for feeling that Springsteen's songs and lyrics have actually helped carry you through some of life's toughest moments; not crazy to think that this man whom you've never met has and continues to fill some kind of void in your life.
