How great to see that Hillary's goose is now cooked - this is the best news since phoney baloney John Edwards had his goose cooked. Next to go: Kay Hagen & Katie Curic

Her goose may be cooked, Holden, but the teflon Phoenix will surely rise again from the ashes of political frustration.

Frankly, I think it would be the ultimate and oddest irony of the new century for these two scandal-laden Dems to be thrust into the same Washington bed. Who knows what monstrosity of policitcal cohabitation might come forth 9 months from now.

Seriously, it may be the dream ticket (youth, age, white, black, man, woman, both liberal icons) but it kinda seems more like putting Al Sharpton and Jesse Helms on the same ticket to me - just in the sense of the oil and water dynamic. There would be a lot of crow to eat and slams to retract. But that's modern American politics for you.

And the dream ticket may be too much to resist, with the radical Wright, Phleger, Moss, et al. skeletons hanging around to bite the young mulatto upstart preechah-politician.

Nevertheless, I think he would be wiser to choose someone less controversial and less up-staging than she. There are NUMEROUS "good choices" in the Dem pantheon. But if the Clinton machine can't win, they'll try like heck to get her in. It should be a circus to behold - move over Barnham and Baily. Although all the behind-the-scenes wrangling these last few weeks it may, in fact, be a fait accompli.

Selecting Hillary as his running mate would be contradictory to the message of change Obama has been flaunting for his entire campaign. He said that he wants to change Washington - adding a staple of current politics, Clinton, he would be undermining his campaign. You can bet that McCain wouldn't let him forget that, either.

I know he'll get my vote.

McCain is G W B part 3. I think we can do without that.

Over the Hill,

go ahead and vote for 4 more years of the same crap we've had to put up with for the last 8. I'm dissapointed that Hillary isn't getting the nomination as well, but I'd vote for my dog before I'd put Mccain in office.

12 billion a month in Iraq is enough of a reason to votre against him, but google the keating 5 to see what kind of a guy Mccain really is.

The two of you just showed how un-informed you really are. McCain would be nothing like another G.W.Bush. McCain has balked and bucked Bush on many, many issues. Including how the war was handled. McCain is known to be the biggest maverick in the GOP. No one can control him or tell him what to do or how to vote.
Now let’s look at your candidate, Obama. He has the most liberal voting record in the senate. In his 3 years in the senate, he has a total of 143 days he spent there. He has not crossed party lines (as McCain has) to work with the other party. And his lack of experience will be exploited when he tries to negotiate with Iran (and other terrorist countries), which he has already said he would do. The only reason he is where he is, is because he is black. And that is NOT a racist remark. If he were white he would NOT be getting the support from the 90% of blacks that have voted for him. It is more racist for blacks to deny that fact. But it doesn't surprise me that you will be backing Obama. That's what most un-informed voters will do.

mikeg said:

Oh please, beachwalker,

Someone is uninformed, but it's not us. Mccain has already demonstrated that he will do whatever it takes to get elected, including changing position on key issues. He will promise the right whatever they want to hear, and then will do what he wants, including staying in Iraq for the next 50 years. If this country can survive 8 years of GWB, it certainly can survive 4 of Obama. The electorate that supports Obama, for the most part are young, dissillusioned voters who are tired of the status quo in washington, and that's exacly what we will get with John Mccain. 4 more years of the same!

beachwalker said:

Give me a break mikeg.
If that is not the most hypocritical thing I have ever heard. Obama said flat out, he would talk and negotiate with Iran, Cuba and other U.S. enemies, WITHOUT PRECONDITIONS. Now, because he has gotten so much education on the matter from John McCain and even others in Obama's own party, he is trying to back pedal. By saying "he didn't say he would meet with the President of Iran direct" or saying "there would be certain goals in mind before such a meeting" (which sounds like preconditions). Obama has gone from having a close advisor in Rev. Wright, to now leaving the church he has been a member for 20 years. And you have the gall to say McCain will do and say anything to get elected. If you want other examples, I have plenty.

BeachWalker,

what u fail to realize is that he is part white.

Beachwalker,

Ok, lets see..not dealing with Iran is really productive. they have really come into line with Bush's current policies towards them. I suppose you would suggest that we bomb them.

Cuba, hmm. lets see, we trade with other communist countries that oppress their people (china for one) and that's ok, but not with Cuba; that horrible Fidel Castro.

perhaps you ought to get your information from other sources than the ones you currently use since they are obviously baised, and not very objective.

by the way, why are you even commenting on a blog that is intended for democrats since you clearly aren't going to take your blinders off, and are intending on voting for Mccain?

I really don't see your point. What difference does it make. Obama refers to himself as African American. The media refers to him as the 1st African American democrat nominee. And by the way race makes NO difference to me, but it does seem to make a difference with the 90% of African Americans who voted for Obama. Tell me the truth, do you really think Obama would have received that much support from the Afican American community (considering all the support the African American community had previously given the Clintons) had he not been black? Remember Bill Clinton was referred to as the 1st African American President by some of the African American so-called leaders.

Just like a liberal socialist democrat. You really don't believe in free speech. You want to shut-up those you don't agree with. Sorry, this country wasn't built that way.

And by the way, I don't know if I'll vote for McCain or not. But I will NOT vote for the most liberal socialist democrat your party has ever nominated, Obama. I'm still hoping for someone else to get into the race.

Fed Up said:

I'm voting for Obama because the Republican party is ruining this nation. I don't really need any other reason than that.

And the fact that McCain is a NeoCon/Republican is enough to tell me that he is a career politician who values big money more than he values the common people of the US.

It is high time for a change

mikeg said:

Fed Up, Great post!

all good reasons to vote for Obama!!

Sensei said:

The funniest thing, though, is that mikeg and Fed Up's votes for Obama will basically not count. North Carolina will, as a state, vote for McCain.

Sorry guys, your votes are worthless.

"I'm voting for Obama because the Republican party is ruining this nation. I don't really need any other reason than that."

What a weird statement. For starters, it has been the Democratic majority in Congress that has done virtually nothing to change things these past two years (thank God!) But it is not the Republican Party OR the Democratic Party, per se, that is "ruining" this nation: it is the media culture of violence, raw sex, atheism, and abject degeneracy - AND - the leftist academic elite - who have pumped their noxious bilge into the minds of our people, with ruinous affects. Political parties are, by comparison, useless and innocuous when it comes to ruining a national entity.

Yes, there are economic issues with ramifications, and a war (which we are winning – for the moment at least); but the real heart and soul of the nation is not government policies, but the moral and philosophical currents that swirl around our lives. IOWs, ideas have consequences; and socialist, big-government, and amoral policies (abortion, gay marriage, etc), so popular in the Democratic ranks, would do more to destroy our American heritage than all the Bush administration errors and faux pas (as spun by the liberal media) combined.

“I don't really need any other reason than that."

I should think ANYONE would need a better reason than that for voting for Obama. This is the problem with the Obama machine – it is made up of mind-numbed robots of the left, who emote profusely at pump-rallies, and then let their goosebumps do their thinking for them – regardless of BO’s Marxist mindset, ultra-thin resume, and shady background. And if the Billary baggage train is added to it, we will have a “Long Black Train” indeed!
