Gas prices
This has been asked before, but not recently. With the price of gas hovering at $4, have you changed your driving habits? Driving less distance? Driving slower? Carpooling? Riding the bus?

Yes! We have cut our gas consumption by over 21% according to our credit cards. We are not traveling near as much , as we would most times. Of course this means we are not using motels, buying food, and the other money we would spend. Does it effect the NR, yes I in most cases would drive 4 miles to the store to get your paper, now I only buy it, when, it happens to be in front of me. Maybe once every 7-10 days. I also hear, papers are having trouble getting folks for home delivery. Maybe it time you get Pelosi, to kick in her common sense plan for lowering gas prices. This reminds me of the Duke case, soon as the election is over the media, that pushed it before the election, ignores it after the election.

I have definitely changed my driving habits. I rarely, if ever, exceed the posted speed limit, which means I find myself in the unfamiliar territory of the "slow-lane." I travel behind the big rigs whenever possible to reduce wind resistance. I take public transportation to work every day. And I have all but eliminated unnecessary trips. I'm also consolidating trips whenever possible. There'll be no vacation for my family this summer, not even to the beach, which has been an annual trip for us for as long as I can remember.

I have gone over and beyond to cut my fuel consumption recently. I traded in my gas guzzling V6 sports car for a Prius which saved me instantly $150 a month in gas. I also started a carpool from Greensboro to Winston-Salem for work which has cut my gas usage by another 75%. I now spend about $60 a month on gas, down from nearly $300 a month. My pocket book thanks me!
