Vijay was a big name, but he's not the golfer he was a few years ago. But, for where Greensboro is following the PGA Championship it's a good commitment. You're not going to get Tiger or Phil, so if you can pick up a few guys like Vijay or a Sergio you have done good for this tournament. I still don't understand the luster behind Sedgefield though, it's just not all that in my opinion. And where are they going to put everything there's no room over there. That's just my take, but I like how they paved the roads and all in time for the tourney. Our tax dollars at work, anything for Sedgefield.

May not be Tiger, but I think we can all agree; everybody can always use a good Vijay.

No Downside nice comment everyone can use a good Vijay. That's pretty stupid. Vijay is a nice addition to the field since it will be lacking anyways due to the PGA Tourney. The date just sucks for Greensboro and whoever got this date really screwed up. They should've kept it in the spring, that's where the PGA should be for Greensboro. Plus, I agree with D, Sedgefield just isn't all that. I've played way better courses and if I hear oh it's the only Donald Ross course one more time I think I'm going to be sick. Mark Brazil is such a suckup and just loves to tell everyone this is the only Donald Ross PGA course on the tour. Well who did the re-design some dude from Greensboro, so it ain't all that. Let's go watch some golf in the heat of August. WOO-HOOO!!!!

Mr. Big, You're saying you don't want Vijay then you're turning around and saying you do????

Hey spoil sports! Just watch and learn. The Wyndham will continue to draw more and more attention as the date gets closer.
Face it whiners, the club is better, more prestegious and yes, the course is better.
I know this is hard for some of you to take in, but it is a fact. Watch and learn..........

The Wyndham will wind up in Raleigh or somewhere in the next few years. And sorry S I agree with these other guys that Sedgefield isn't all that. Wow, they have nice clubhouse, but the course isn't the best in the world. The greens are fast, but it's no better than Bryan Park or the Cardinal or even Forest Oaks when they are all in good shape. Plus, I agree there's no room at Sedgefield and it will be a nightmare for parking and all that comes with a tourney and that's a fact. They are really hanging their hats on this Donald Ross thing which is funny. Big deal!

The top 20 golfers on the tour, that maintain their possition, should be required to play every american tournament every five years. I doubt this will ever happen. Bless their little poor overworked millionaire hearts.

Just for the record: Did you actually think Tiger Woods would show up in Greensboro ?
Posted on July 14, 2008 9:36 AM
Tiger Woods daughter is named Sam, much like the Sam Snead Cup honored at the GGO.(Wynham Chamanpionship). If one reporter reports it is hot the golfers are beaded in sweat and their armpits are drenched and dummy fans are dropping in heat stroke just means the reporter prefers air condition than free morning air and setting sun and doesn't know how much to get out of the sun but to enjoy true skill and motion. Golf is a good sport stop whinning. Christine

I misspelled Wyndham and a few other words..forgive me..Christine
I truly believe that summertime is a good time to golf with the right respect and attitude.

Let me educate you newbies at Slugefield how this works since you certainly must still be living in the clouds. Big name golfers sign up a month or even a week prior to a tourney. Many big names may sign up...few actually show up. There is a difference.
