Would you like your 8-year-old to wear contacts (if his or her eyesight needed improving, of course)?

Well....I am ashamed to admit that I fell for this when my own daughter PLEADED with me for contacts. She had an astigmatism and her contacts were over 470.00. She was 11 and swore they were what she needed so the kids at school would have no reason to call her 4 eyes. I gave in for the wrong reasons.Logic jumped out the window because "it was for my baby"! Imagine my horror when she couldn't get one of them out...then decided she was never going to ever wear them again...and she NEVER did! at 21 she still wears glasses! Every child is different but 8 is very young. My child was 11 and that was still to young.....I believe but maybe for someone else their 8 yr. old could handle it?????????????
