Not sure. If they are registered sex-offenders, it means they have already been punished. When does the punishment stop? Don't you have to break a law, be found guilty by trial before being punished? I'm also not sure who this is trying to protect. All sex offenders are not pedophiles. And, if your hope is that people can re-make themselves for the better, this certainly isn't the kind of support and understanding that encourages that. What would Christ do?

Yes they should be banned... allowing sex offenders in a park where children play is like dangling a pack of cigarettes in front of a chain smoker. And I understand each sex offender is not a pedophile/ child predator but they have been label a sex offender because of some stupid and immoral sex act they commited because of a lack of good judgement from the head on their shoulders. How do you ban one class of sex offender without banning the other? With that being said I do believe SOME people can change....

I personally think that all sex offenders have a mental problem going on in their head. I do however understand that not all were against children. But I believe that yes they should be banned from a gathering places of vulnerable children. Not all parents are smart enough either to keep a close eye on their children. If more and more parents would try harder to protect and believe their kids then less would be invaded by some pervert. I also personally think that any sex offender that was tried and convicted of any sex crime against a child should not be able to walk the streets let alone be allowed somewhere they gather. Why not just let them teach in our daycares and schools? You wouldnt want that so why let them into parks and playgrounds. Sorry if I come off a little strong but I have small children and wouldnt want to know that everytime I take them to a park I have to worry about a pervert trying to talk to them or even looking at them in any sexual way. They are sick individuals that need lots of time incarcerated and many many evaluations before even being allowed out. Still thats probably not enough for most. Check out the sex offenders registry and look at home many of them have repeat offenses and then you say they should be out. If you do then you are just as sick as they are.

The key issue here is "Sex Offender"
What is a Sex Offender.
Well it is a spectrum of people from,
A person who MOONS someone in public.
A person who gets caught having sex, like
in the back seat of a car, or in a secluded
park setting.
A Boy or Girl, age 4 or older who touches
another boy or girl sexually.
This includes a boy of 19, who has sex
with his 15 year old girl friend whom he is
engaged to be married to.
All the way up to a man who rapes women,
a man who molests children...
A man, who had sex with his under age girlfriend 30 years ago, is now made a sex
offender.
So, this lawmaker, wants to BAN all sex offenders from public parks.
What is that going to do to the children of a
man who loves park, but the dad committed 1
sex crime 30 years ago and served his time?
Why can these children not go to a park.
Why can the dad not go to the park.
These SOB lazy, sorry excuses of lawmakers need to do their home work and make laws
that are INTELLIGENT. I get so mad at the
the level of ignorance in some of these
POLITICIAN LAWMAKERS trying to make a
name for themselves by getting tough on crime.
Their should be prison time involved for THOSE WHO MAKE IGNORANT LAWS that harm people.
