Sidewalks

Extend the hours for sidewalk dining or not? Unfair police enforcement or proper interpretation of the law? You decide.

Geez, are we really talking about this issue. What is the big deal? Do you want a downtown that is vibrant and all or do you want it to become a drag. Sure, they should extend the hours, I never even knew there was a certain time that had to close shop. This is just stoo-pid!

I have lived in many places that did not have a 10pm or midnight rule. It seems crazy to tell business owners to move it inside so early. I just don't see it being an issue with crowding either. I would think the majority of people would be downtown on a weekend before midnight while the patios are out. This issue does not make sense. Change the rule.

This has to be one of the most ridiculous laws I have ever heard of. Don't we want Downtown Greensboro to stay revived?
We still have a long way to go but these hours are just crazy. Outside dining ought to be permitted at any restaurant during all of their operating hours. Hi-people let's step it up! We are losing everything to Winston-Salem and Charlotte. Let's get with it.

Where did such a silly idea come from in the first place. Open the sidewalks all night.
