Thumbs Up! And I think it is obvious that Sarah scares the Democrats - Hats off to John McCain for such a wise selection.

She hit a home run. I think America will grow to love her. I loved the part where she laid it on the left wing press. Of course you can still feature her husband dui. Are the fact her daughter is having a baby. Her state has a budget, they have stopped the state gas tax for a year. Even given the state people a refund! What has tax hike mike your man done for the state? Raised taxes, rip off the highway fund, and the money that was going to the schools.

Excellent, return-fire speech against the hate-filled Left and Obama-loving media. Palin embodies much that the militant feminist movement strove to achieve in the 1970s, yet "isn't qualified" merely because she has an "R" next to here slot on the ballot. The vicious attacks against Palin and her family from the intolerant Left in the hours and days since her pick for VP show trembling fear from the DemocRATS of this strong ticket...since the Dems cannot engage in debate of the issues without assassinating someone's character first, the Left's thug tactics may have backfired! I am very energized following Palin's speech, and I will be very active monetarily and with "boots on the ground" with the McCain campaign between now and November. But I will be even more active after watching the liberal media's attacks and the leftist thug "protestors"/terrorists actions at the convention this past week. Dish it out, get ready to take it, Dems!

I'm not going to say any candidate is all that for this election, both have their flaws, but I would say Mccain/Palin is the better choice and her speech was pretty good! It amazes me though how biased the media is for the democrats. Everyone in NC and America should ask themselves what has Obama done and who is this guy? I know everyone wants change, but this is not the direction we need to go in and it's scary to think that Obama could get elected in November. He's is nothing but lip service in my opinion.

She nailed it! Can't imagine how it could have been much better. Thought PBS commentary that she had crossed a line in "attacking" Obama was disingenuous. This is a presidential race and the speech was perfectly appropriate.

I have been channel hoping this morning. My opinion she has the left wing media tied in knots. The joke is Matthews a real professional wacko, is reporting she is unfit to be VP. she was caught chewing gum in the third grade. I understand that Biden Family has a drug problem! also has a relative being used for fraud. Strange a baby is big news, the other is not!
Ever thing is over the line when a republican does it.

I'm shocked by Ms. Palin's "performance." I'm shocked that a political nobody had the nerve to pick on a "community organizer" and had the idiocy to to attack the very media that seems to be giving her a free pass. I'm shocked that one who calls herself a Christian could be so mean spirited and hateful. I have no doubt she wasn't telling her own story - merely reading what was written for her - and am not surprised that she delivered it with poise, beauty queen and sports-caster that she was before becoming a hockey mom. But, as desperate as the McCain campaign must be, I certainly expected a better choice for the VP spot than Ms. Palin. I'll put my future in Obama & Biden's camp; at least they won't put me down for caring about my community.

I think Mrs. Palin did an excellent job - she is not afraid to take on the liberal media and the Democrats. I must say that I am surprised that there haven't been more liberals posting even more vile attacks on this lovely lady - only one bad comment so far. Ms. Winston's comment about Mrs. Palin's "idiocy" at "attacking" the media just goes to show that the Left is afraid of this strong ticket. The only one getting "attacked" here is Mrs. Palin. The media has done nothing but try to dig up dirt on the Palin family since the announcement that Mrs. Palin would be on the McCain ticket. Your comments do not surprise me, Ms. Winston. It is typical of an Obama/Biden supporter to smear someone like Sarah Palin and to try to discredit her with attacks on her family. Wake up, America! The only thing that Obama will bring to you as President is higher taxes a welcome mat to terrorists.

OBAMA SUCKS!!!!! I'm so tired of hearing about all this change. He's going to change this, change that. He doesn't have the experience to run this country and people like Ms. Winson need to wake up. Obama is like John Edwards in he will say anything to get elected. There is no perfect candidate that will win the presidency, but Obama and Biden is not the choice we need running things here in the U.S. I just hope NC and the rest of America will realize that when voting in November.

If she were a man, Governor Palin wouldn’t even qualify to be a deacon in most fundamentalist churches:
1 Timothy 3:12 A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well.
Posted on September 4, 2008 11:41 AM
Ms. Palin put the final nail in the Hillary coffin without even trying.
I don't think Barack and Michelle were doing any fist bumps before they went to bed last night.
Posted on September 4, 2008 11:41 AM
Oh come on Mr. Blackburn, she's isn't trying to be a deacon at any church.
I think she has the Governor's Igloo in pretty good order in Alaska.
Posted on September 4, 2008 11:46 AM
The second McCain announced her, it started the THREE RING CIRCUS we'll see from now until November. I'm also wondering if all these blogers are from Alaska, how else do they understand what she's talking about. I don't know what all the hype over Palin is all about. If you wanted a WOMAN for President why didn't you vote for Hillary in the Primaries. I really don't think a BREAST FEEDING mom (yes, for the record I did) is what we need in such an important office. She shook things up alright, like McCain with this choice - let the games begin.

Its no wonder that bush lost every city with a college graduate population over 35 percent. With your blind support of McCain(who was considered a joke when he ran in 2004) and a VP who was the governor of a state ranked 49th in population only goes to display this cities general ignorance and disdain for the greater good of the country as a whole.
Posted on September 4, 2008 12:23 PM
Mary, Mary, Mary what's the problem with Hillary all it took by the way was having someone who is qualified. Now I actually voted for Barack in the primary just so I could say I voted against Hillary, it was great.
Now as Ms. Palin said Barack can take his styrafoam Greek columns and go else where.

the mocking in her speech is going to really backfire. While she may have stirred up the republican base, she turned of independents and undecides which ultimately will decide the election. Ironically ever since McCain picked Palin, women have rallied around Obama. I dont blame them. Women were insulted that McCain would pick a woman to get the angry Hillary vote. In fact if you look at the electoral math today based on the states Obama leads in, all he has to do is win Virginia and Obama will be the next president of the United States. Virginia is up in the air right now and appears to be leaning towards Obama. I must say it was digusting to watch Palin and others last night mock Obama being a community organizer. Its a slap in the face to all those unfortunate people that have jobs and homes thanks to community organizers. The ones Obama was involved in were faith based. So the mocking was very distasteful and what really made it so bad is the republican audience actually laughing at it. I look forward to seeing the faces of all the McCain supporters when Obama is elected president :)

I think anyone is a hypocrit for criticizing Obama about his expereince to lead yet they praise Palin and think she has the experience to lead. lets compare Obama and Palin's experience.
Obama:
B.A in political science from Columbia University, with a specialization in international relations
J.D. in Law from Hardvard, graduated magna *** C U M laude; President of the Harvard Law Review
community organizer
12 years (92-04) teaching constitutional law
7 years State Senator: sponsored more than 800 bills
4 years Senator for Illinos, a state with 12.8 million people
Palin:
Member of the PTA
Bachelor's in journalism from University of Idaho
4 years Wasilla Town Council (8000 people)
6 years Wasilla mayor (8000 people)
1 year "Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission"
20 months governor of a state with 660,000 people
if you were an employer and you were look at their resume above, between Obama and Palin who has the most relevant experience to be president? Who would you hire based on those two resumes?
Posted on September 4, 2008 1:33 PM
Well Timmy I wasn't aware Ms. Palin was running against Obama. But if she were I'l have to say Ms. Palin would get my vote.
As far as who I would hire that's easy too, the person with the street smarts who would be willing to grow with the company.
Or if you just wanted some pretty boy to show up at the golf course or basketball court I guess you could go with Obama. However he strikes me as the kind of guy who would want to know when is vacation time starts.

CHANGE: Barack Obama talks about it, but then selects one of the biggest Washington insiders in the US Senate for his running mate.
CHANGE: John McCain talks about it, and then selects a Governor who has a proven track record of doing it for his running mate.
And John McCain's judgment is being scrutinized?
What planet are you people from?
Governor Palin's speech was brilliant.
John McCain's selection for a VP candidate was brilliant.
Posted on September 4, 2008 2:29 PM
Uhhh, Tim- She's running for Vice-President. If you compare her to a life-time senator, I'll take her any-day. If you compare McCain's resume to Obama, it's hands down McCain.
Posted on September 4, 2008 2:35 PM
Tim, why do you not share some of these bills he sponsored? Palin has proven she can, make a cash cow out of here state. Palin has proven she can make liberals cry fowl. She told it just like it is on the liberal media. I am a gambler, I willing to bet the Danville R@B that run the most vicious cartoon today, is going to pay big time for it. I was in Danville today and all I heard was good about her. She must have done a good job selling the NR, I have not been able to find one today.
Posted on September 4, 2008 2:37 PM
Yeah Tim speak up on what Obama has done and don't compare Palin and Obama. Compare McCain and Obama and then the truth will come out. Obama is a J-O-K-E!!!!

Im not the one comparing Obama and Palin. Republicans are. But since you dont think Obama is qaulified to lead, what makes you think Palin is ready to lead? Keep in mind McCain is 72 years old and has health problems. What if something happens to him and she has to step in as president? do you think someone with less experience than Obama can lead? We are talking about someone who said she doesnt know what a VP does and even as a running mate she has to be coached. Talk about learning on the job. It would be a disaster if Palin some how managed to become president. McCain has certainly lowered the bar on how qaulfied a person should be to be vice-president.
Posted on September 4, 2008 4:00 PM
What has the country come to that people think a person is qaulified to be VP just because they are a woman? Palin may be stiring up the Republican base but shes making McCain look bad because now you have a situation where the running mate overshadows the nominee. But im sorry, If you want 4 more years of Bush policies thats your business....but you know what. Obama has WAY to much momentum and support. His campaign has registered millions of voters who have not voted before. The new voters will be enough to put Obama over the top. BTW have you seen the latest electoral map polls? Obama has taken two republican states and if the polls in each state remain as is, all Obama has to do is win Virginia and thats enough for Obama to win the election. The electoral map is in the democrats favor this year.

Vote for McCain/Palin!! Get her the heck out of Alaska!!!!
Posted on September 4, 2008 7:04 PM
Palin is a terrible choice. Why is it Republicans feel the need to a) blatantly lie um...remember how you SUPPORTED that bridge to nowhere in 2006 Sarah? And talked about how offensive it was to the constituents to call it "a bridge to nowhere"? Way to flip flop. Also, good job talking about how you said "No thank you" to Congress...but you kept that $225 million, didn't you? Just didn't build the bridge.
b)make personal attacks on opposing candidates. Barack Obama said to leave the kids out of it whe asked about her knocked up teenage daughter. She attacks him and calls him "unfit to lead". I really wish they'd out with it and just say "He's BLACK. And you all know you are uncomfortable voting for a black man!! "
Indstead I think they have meetings behind closed doors to capitalize on it.
I also enjoyed the warm embrace between McCain and Palin, as though they were old family friends. They had ONE phone conversation before he asked her to be VP. They had never met.
The thing that really angers me is that the American public is too lazy, stupid or apathetic to do any research. They just eat up whatever rhetoric is fed to them by either side. Hence the invasion of Iraq...even our Senators don't dig a little deeper before casting their votes.
I will be disgusted if McCain wins this election but I fear my friend Matthew is right, and that some people will get into the voting booth and decide they cannot vote for a black man. I'd hope we'd be past that and be able to look at the man and look at the damage done by the past administration. I guess we're about to find out.
God help us if McCain wins. I guarantee we'll have another 9/11 and very possibly another Cold War with Russia within the next 8 years if so.

I stopped counting at $2trillion in bribes that Obama has promised the great unwashed masses to crown him.
Oh, and by the way, I just love saying this-
Obama as POTUS will be the best thing that has happened to sleepwalking conservatives. Four years of mind numbing socialism and lock-step dreamy eyed personality worshippers should be a real splash of cold water in the face.

I also enjoyed the warm embrace between McCain and Palin, as though they were old family friends. They had ONE phone conversation before he asked her to be VP. They had never met. He is vehemently against earmarks in Congress...and she generates a great deal of income that way. Can they work together when they have different methods and ideals?

To Nanook, I must point out that Bush took more vacations than any other President in history. try doing some research, buddy.
Posted on September 4, 2008 7:18 PM
Why exactly is Obama a joke, D? That is a ridiculous, ignorant statement.
Doug, are you familiar with earmarks and pork barrel spending? Perhaps you should look into Palin's record so you can learn about it.
I do not understand this "liberal media" label. Besides the fact that "liberal media" is just something the right wing throws around and can't substantiate (anything that says Bush has done a bad job is attributed to the "liberal media"...try attributing it to a wretched administration), Palin hasn't taken on anyone unless you count biting the hands that fed her in Alaska. She is already involved in so much drama and legal mess in Alaska, between unlawful firings and building a sports complex on land her city didn't even own outright...Do the Republicans really need that kind of baggage in the White House? I think they have enough of a mess to contend with.
Palin is unqualified,

Laura, did I say anything about President Bush? Don't blame 9/11 on W, that was the byproduct of Clinton sleeping on the job for 8 years in a closet with any intern that could get her hands on him.
It sounds like your more than just a little jealous of Sarah Palin, no doubt your resume cannot hold a candle to hers.
Posted on September 4, 2008 7:38 PM
Wow, it looks like the angry Democrats are here in full force today. Laura, try doing some of that research you keep telling others to do and look up what Obama has ever done (should be a short list). As for another 9/11, the truth is we will be attacked again if Obama becomes president, not McCain. JW was right on the money - if comrade Obama gets the job, 4 years of socialism ought to wake everybody up. I just hope it won't be too late to save the country that we love.
Posted on September 5, 2008 11:47 AM
Let's all remember when we are downing the
republicans...congress really runs the country!!
So let's start there with the criticizing!!
Posted on September 5, 2008 11:53 AM
Ah, I love the whine of liberals in the morning when they realize that they have been snookered by an old man. Yes, we wil now here about Obama's superior intellect, that he has written two books, and he writes his own speeches. That's great, now what has he actually accomplished while he has been sitting in the state senate and U.s. Senate al of these years? Answer: He doesn't have one accomplishment. He hasn't authored a major piece of legislation in the state or U.S. Senate.
But, we shouldn't overlook his experience as an ACORN community organizer. But, some of us actually know what an ACORN community organizer does. When you break it down, it sounds pretty much like Nelson Johnson. If you think that is unfair, check out what ACORN is and does.

NY times headline today:
"Obama Camp Turns to Clinton to Counter Palin "
ST. PAUL — Senator Barack Obama will increasingly lean on prominent Democratic women to undercut Gov. Sarah Palin and Senator John McCain, dispatching Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to Florida on Monday and bolstering his plan to deploy female surrogates to battleground states, Obama advisers said Thursday.
Mrs. Clinton’s campaign event in Florida, her first for Mr. Obama since the Democratic convention, will serve as a counterpoint to the searing attacks and fresh burst of energy that Ms. Palin injected into the race with her convention speech on Wednesday, Obama aides said.
Oops. Perhaps, Joe Biden will have a personal matter arise that requires him to drop out of the race. Sadly, Baraca Obama will accept his resignation and turn to Hillary Clinton as his running mate.
Posted on September 5, 2008 12:14 PM
130 times Obama voted present, could not make a decision. I am a life long democrat and I'm voting for the only logical choice, McCain/Palin. I'll take the "old man" & the gutsy lady. NObama!!!!!!!! No way!!!!!
