Nope - I think this is just an experiment by the State to illustrate just how uninvolved parents are in their child's education these days. I mean, if they cannot get their child a simple 5-minute TDAP vaccination within a 2-3 month timeframe, how can they be expected to be an integral force within their child's education?? I mean, sure, it's easier to blame the teacher's and school system, but now they'll have nobody to blame but themselves when little Johnny is sitting home, suspended for mommy or daddy's ignorance and/or laziness.

No. When Friday gets here and a child can't prove that he or she has received the vaccination, SEND THEM HOME.
It's not like they were just told about this, parents have known about this for at least a year. To all those parents that are using the excuse that they don't have a ride, PLEASE. They can all go to Walmart on Sunday. They can make to the ABC store on Friday. If GCS, does not stick to the Friday deadline, they might as well just drop the whole issue, because the deadline date will come and go, and there will still be students out there without these vaccinations.
STOP BSing, get it taken care of.
STOP giving extensions, start acting.

No. The danger of an epidemic which could sicken and maybe kill many students outweighs the "inconvenience" of getting free shots. I'm just waiting for someone who, on religious or other grounds, refuses to have a child vaccinated and then gets sued when their child causes a fatal case or two.
Actually, I think the schools have been far too lenient. No one should have been allowed to enroll in the 6th grade without proof of the shots.

Many of us remember the Iron Lung. Get the shot.

This is not a school requirement. This is a STATE LAW. Please stop blaming the schools and the Health Department for non parental involvement.

Yes. I think the state and the school system are taking choices away from parents and families. Our government is telling us what to do. Government was created to represent the people not control the people. I am not saying that the vaccinations were right or wrong, just that we need to still have the choice. Vaccinations on their face are a good idea but sometimes the side effects are not worth the risk, but you will not here that. And lets be honest, most of these self righteous parents will not do the research to find out on their own. We need less orders from our elected officials and more freedom to make our own choices.
